I notice that you used an adapter for the clutch MC. Did it not bolt to the firewall in the existing holes?

That piece is actually to reinforce the area so it doesn't flex when you step on the brake or clutch.
The existing holes for the reinforcement plate are there too, they just have short bolts in them. It all just bolts up, you just need new fasteners.

I also got the pushrod for the clutch installed today!
This is only a big deal because I haven't been able to find it for 6 months or better.....................

Transmission crossmember is in though!



It is a tad low but as you can see there isn't much choice using the T-5/AOD stock isolator.
I think it will be fine though - the other new crossmember is actually lower but it's also closer to the axle.

Yesterday Eric (62 bigwindow) came up for a bit a parts swapping,
I got a 4x4 front roll pan out of the deal.
Today I trimmed the frame for clearance and mocked it up on the truck.
I probably didn't need the grill for a mock up but I wanted a couple pics;







You guys know this slippery slope,
think I will lower it another 3" now.

I have a few ideas for the center section of the roll pan, obviously it will be filled.
Also thinking Nerf bars on the front & rear.
If I fill it with a wider section I can hide the springs & shackles & french in a plate mount.

That looks killer Greg.Nice to see some of the extra parts I have go to good use.Wish I could have stayed longer to help out with the install- but a long drive home.I think a 3'' drop would be just about perfect.

The 64 won't make KC this year Lance,
I simply don't have enough $ for the parts to make her driveable.
I will run down in Iris.
I will keep at it though.
Will give me time to finish some stuff the way I want rather just bolt it together to only take it back apart again.
The front clip only has enough bolts in it to hold it in place.
Next time I install it with all the fasteners it be painted and will stay on.

Mine does not have holes for a reinforcement plate. It does have 2 holes which I presume are for a master cylinder. The reason I ask is when I tried to fit a hydraulic clutch setup, the master cylinder did not bolt up to the two existing holes. Since you used the plate I figured that's what happened with yours too, but apparently you have a completely different setup if a 4 bolt plate bolts up.

Now that I think about it I think I had to drill those Charlie,
there 2 that lined up with the MC studs though.
I just used flat head allen screws for those. Plate is countersunk with "teeth" that hold them.

I keep staring at the front end and thinking.
Now that I have the roll pan I am one step closer to the look I am trying to achieve.
I want a traditional, shop truck/push truck look with a cool paint scheme (yea probably scallops).
The easy route would be an oak board on the front, I want something with a little more of a finished look though.
I should incorporate a plate mount (sposed to run a front plate here - thinking frenched in), want to fill the roll pan to hide the spring shackles and frame ends (or what's left of them now ).
I am considering a Nerf bar on the front.
Instead of the typical oval on each end I am thinking maybe one that goes all the way across.
Maybe style it to match the drop section of the roll pan too.
I will of course do something in the rear that matches like this;

OK, I haven't done crap to the truck in over a month.......................
(I did cut out all the glass to start prepping the cab for paint though).
On the upside, my new shop is almost done and I should start moving the equipment and then the 64 next weekend.
I can't seem to get pics into my photobucket so I can't post them.
Hopefully some progress will start to happen again soon.

I actually worked on the old girl this afternoon.
Got out the DA and started sanding the cab.
Truck has been repainted twice since Ford did her.
The last job was awful - time to start thinking of some colors (again).

I've seen it - would probably look cool with the Navajo beige too.
My wheels are polished aluminum Skip - think I will leave them.

The bed is ready to remove from the frame - the delivery of the short bed is arranged.
Started removing the old paint from the cab - took a break to wire & put lights in the garage.
I found this - maybe a future mod................

I have decided not to run the roll pan on the front so I will be welding the stubs I removed from the frame back on.
When I get the truck out of the garage to remove the bed I will pull the front clip again while I have it outside.
