They say NO democracy has ever existed for much more than 200 years.... they all fail about that time.... It wouldnt surprise me if this is it.

screw the end of the world.... The end of the US looks like its immenent and It will likely be worse than a flat out end-all. worse, because we will have to deal with it.... and live with the results

The people of America did NOT elect this "Messiah"

Look at the country by counties............The only places in those "blue" states that voted for him were the cities.
Can you say government assistance?

The working people know the deal but the "needy" just want more hand outs!

I lost faith in the intelligence of the majority a long time ago!

Never forget 9/11 !!!

We will be reminded again ..soon.

He wants to be friends with the Grizzly Bears.....never trust a Grizzly.
INEPTOCRACY: (in-ep'-toc-ra-cy) : a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

I will have to say I have been well pleased in some aspects of this years election. One is the fact that people cared more for their right to vote than spend that time doing something trivial. I also like the fact when presented with the fact that the lines would be long they stayed. I was also impressed in McCains speech last night. He showed the true patriot I thought he was. I did not see the attacks or anger. It was one of those defining moments of speech that will hopefully be remembered within this great nation. Also as far as Obama goes he is a well spoken and will be a asset in the time to come for the us and world. I was impressed that the evil of hatred of someome has fallen away somewhat. People were able to let that go and vote for a person that was not their color, sex, background education or any other area they may be different.

I was also impressed with the fact the candidates want the country to come together for a change. And that is what the country should do. its not about us or you, liberal or conservative, neocon or left wing extremist its about the US. Our countrys existance has been fought with longsuffering and humbleness for the greater good of all. Along the way those in power have shown in the past to have compassion to the least of the republic. When we form a sytem that one idealogical mentality is a tyrant to all beliefs whe all suffer at the hands of those who dictate to everyone. Many of the ideas spoken here on this site recently I have heard before. The last two presidential elections I have heard of a one party system becoming a dictatorial tyrant that destroys the system. We had the 6 years of GOP rule until a couple of years ago and we are still here. We will be here in 4 more years. From what I have seen in ours countrys history we will be here unless we destroy ourselves from our own hate and anger towards our fellow contrymen.

In our countrys past Lady liberty has been tried and proven to be effective for her people. In the civil war we survived the cancer of hatred that pit brother against brother. In the depression we survived the hopless of tomorrow and became the hope of the worlds people in tyranny due to axis powers. We survived the McCarty era of the 50s that attacked our fellow countrymen mainly due to one over zealous elected official. We also survived the ugly hatred of predjudice of one group over the other group due to the pigment of flesh.

I remember this time well. For those of you who do not know I am a white male that was born in the south. The only time I have ever been farther than Kentucky was last year when I went on a trip to New Mexico by way of Chicago. So I am a born ,bred and southerner my whole life. But with that I also was born in the 60s near Memphis. I saw the uglyness first hand that many in America still today glorify. Men yelling "kill all the negroes" at children my age at that time. I lived between the area where Memphis and where Buford Pusser was sherrif. I saw the white men contemplaiting lynching their fellow countrymen that they may fight and die next to in Viet Nam a few years later. I also saw the death threats on both sides. Many of the history is not told from both sides. There were death threats against the white children and that they would be killed.

Many of these people also claimed God was on their side. I cannot believe God Almighty expects us to have such a hate for our fellow men. I can see God having a hatred for the sin we do. I was very confused from the mentality of this hatred. It took years but I finally realized this is not a productive way to be. I have seen with total discust how politics has taken over a large group of people claiming to be Christians. I do not see the moral majority to be moral or the majority. I also do not see the Christian right to be either right or christian. I have seen a movement into politics in the 80s go from a small movement to today where in the last week I saw where a right wing tv station have a person on thier show and promote her. What did their group do, They prayed to a graven immage, a cow. This is not allowed in the bible.
http://wonkette.com/403920/jesus-people ... ds-economy

I was ready to quit this site due to the attitude of I am right in politics and you are not a patriot if you do not see my way. This is not the America founded by our founding fathers. That is the control they fought and successfully won freedom for our country to be free of. They came together as a group with differing ideas and experences. They created to me the greatest country in the history of the world as far as I am concerned. The idea of my side is right and anyone who disagrees is what caused Hitler to come to power. Its the same idea that killed children in churches during the civil rights era. It is also the mindset that will destroy our country and turn it into far worse than anything we can imagine.

So I challange each one of you to work towards making our country better. Yes by all means voice your opinion but respect others. If you have a problem with DC then by all means let them know, the pen is mighter than the sword has been said in the past. Get involved localy. We need to work together as a country and not be at war within this great land. I would like to thank everyone who voted for McCain, I would also like to thank those who voted for Obama, I think those who were so discusted with it they wrote in Mickey mouse or my guy Curly stooge. You have added another brick into the house that is the USA. We need to be a shining light into a world of dispair, hate and no hope.

You may ask why did I write this. I am far from being good writer. You see from above. In fact I had decieded to quit due to the anger I have seen. But I thought it would be like giving up on America and what makes us great. I also have recieved emails from many of you who have got discusted as well at your fellow memebers here. I have news from many of you here from the emails I have recieved. Not everyone here hates Obama and not everyone voted for McCain. I also have not quit due to someone asking me not because I didn't care to stand up for those of different ideas. I may not agree with you but I do respect your opinion. But what I do not respect is anger and hatred. Put that energy into better use. Lets make the USA better not as republicians, democrats, or independent, but as patriotic Americans.

I think this is the key. I call my Senators and Congressmen very often, they need our input. Squeaky wheel gets the grease right? I even call others, Pelosi needs our input, just make sure you have a zip code out of her district in case they ask for it. Don't let the fearmongers get you down.

Oh I did go buy a large quantity of ammo today and another rifle, better safe than sorry.

Another thing they will put you through to a recorder when you call the DC office, I think next time I am going to tell them I wish to leave the message with a intern. I wonder if calling the SF office would work better. I called several times on the offshgore drilling issue. I think that is one issue that needs to be watched, they may try to ban us for drilling for our own oil forever.

My daughter worked as an intern for Kay Baily Hutchinson and they took the messages direct and summarized them for KBH. Another thing is don't call with an attitude, your call will be forgotten as soon as they hang up.

Willy, well thought out post. You need to stick around. Just because people here don't see ONE subject your way is not a reason to give up on the site as a whole.

Some of my beliefs would probably not score high points with this crowd either!

I do not 'fear' an Obama presidency. What I do worry about is the Pelosi/Reid influence in Congress. That scares the crap out of me. The sheeple of my own state voted that idiot Murtha back in. I don't know what these people are thinking. We need to put soldiers where the real battle is--Congress! We need to vote in people who aren't socialists or beholden to George Soros.

The upside of the Obama presidency is that the race card no longer holds any teeth. Right there's your proof that a person of color can become anything they want in this country.

Hey Iceman, PLEASE DO call Pelosi. I admire anyone who can live in Alaska under the cold and harsh conditions. If there is a group that shows the true frontiersman attitude of what founded Americia it has to be people who can survive there. Also I believe you can just give her a piece of mind from the opposite side of the way she thinks. Lonnie I am right there with you. I did not care for either but you have to deal with what you are given. I do like McCains attitude I have seen in the past and Obama would do extremely well to use McCains advice. We need more people in DC who will reach across party lines to resolve our issues. I think in that sense McCain has been a true Maverick. The only fault I have had is the rove/swift boat type of campaign run in his party. Yes there were some of that on Obamas team but no where near McCains side.

"When can I start to complain about the honky's always being put down by the man? Shoooooz maaaaan." That comment brings up a very good point. And I hope in this aspect one thing will go away. "the white man putting me down" has no place in America anymore. We are a diverse culture today and there is NO NEED for affirmative action today. America putting down the bigotry of the past and electing a minority to the highest position in the us proves to me we need to do away with the afirmative action stuff. I encourage each one of you to be a pain in the rear of these elected officials and let them know your opinion. There is no need for reperations, the citizens who could have claimed this were slave and today there are no slaves. That group have been dead a long time, in fact the last civil war veteran died in the late 50s.

If there is one factor in getting Obama elected that really made a difference is the people organizing and coming together. So my suggestion is just because its a day or so after the dust has settled sweep it again by letting them know how you feel. If we only gripe a few weeks before election to them they have the rest of the time do what they want. Also as far as the balance of power. In the 90s under clinton it was somewhat balanced then the GOP got control of a lot of it VS Clinton. Then we see all the eggs in the proverbial GOP Basket. Now we have seen the eggs do a 180 and now they are in the dems egg basket. My guess is in the next election the dems will lose some of their control and DC will be forced to work with each other and listen to each other. That is what the founding fathers wanted to create.

Can we ever get past racial issues if we have NAACP, BET, and 50 something black only colleges? Why do we use the term African American? The term Irish American is not used to describe me. IMO the NAACP will never go away, it may have started as a noble cause but now it is about the money. Organizations like the NAACP need racial issues to thrive for them to thrive, and therefore keep receiving funds.

Thats something that has always bothered me. Not that there is a NAACP but the fact if a white centered entity formed it would be deemed racist by many. As long as it did not attack other races I would not consider it to be racist. A white association that told the history of european based white Americans for example. You can have all kinds of groups that promote themselves. Eskimos could even have a group, I would be really interested in their history. Racism can crop up in any race in the world. I have been a victim of reverse discrimination. But do I hate that person, not at all. I will not stoop to their level.

It is not the race issue but the liberal new media that promoted his ticket night and day without showing very little of the conservative side. All you have to do is count the attack by the media and keep a score. Is that right in any democratic society. Is it right to say Take from the rich and give to the poor. My dictionary says that is socialism. Can a democratic society survive when we keep moving more to the left. The founding fathers would turn over in their graves not because he is black but extreme left leaning views and wanting to change. I have no problem with color or gender but I believe the constutions should not be destroyed and his past voting record in ILL and the dc sures does not suggest that he will follow it very close. I will also say that the conservative right also did nothing that they promised. Im also sick how they did business. I know in America you have the right to vote for whom ever you want but no one says That I have to take it laying down. The media blame Bush for all this crap. Wake up and read the facts. Who were the ones that help get us into the finicial bind we are in Now. IT was the Da__ liberals that made banks finance house for people that budget was not able to do the monthly payments Is that Democratic Hell no Yess I will wait and see and you can be sure that he will get a ton of mail from me if he does this socialism crap. The Rep. also got a ton of mail from be but they could have cared less because they are all sold out to lobeyist not the people back home. Mayby one good thing will come out of this mess is the rep and congressmen will start listing to the people. We need a line item veto to stop all this pork. O well wait and see. I do hope that I wrong but wait and see

But the difference there Willy, is that Caucasians as a group have never been marginalized like those of African, Aboriginal, or Hispanic descent have been, and mainstream history books are already skewed to the white European perspective.

Also, I do not believe "white" is truly a race. There are simply too many distinct cultures within the Caucasian "category" to label it as such. Also consider that a lot of those cultures have historically clashed with one another. Irish, Italian, Ukrainian, Polish, and Scandinavian immigrants were all discriminated against by British ones when Western Canada was settled, for example. So to lump them into one race is just silly to me.

That being said, I understand you are saying that discrimination is wrong in any form. I agree and I applaud you for not stooping to that level.

But technically the proper term is Inuit, not Eskimo. ;)

A little off the path but close. I had to fill out a form the other day for the Texas Real Estate Commision and it asked the usual questions, Name, Address, Hair and Eye color and Race. The box after race was Ethnic, choices were Hispanic, or Non-Hispanic. I thought there where a lot more choices relating to ethnic, for example ethnic Albanian. What gives here?

You forgot Hungarians, Czecholslovaks, Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Koreans, Jamaicans, and Americans, Jason.
and try and tell that community of dead Norwegians who came in 1099 to Newfoundland and were slaughtered by the natives, or the ones in burned Contestoga wagons in the 1800's, or a white guy with a flat tire in Harlem, that white people were never "suppressed"

I think you've been reading some Liberal party handbooks there.

I'm not saying that acts of racism haven't been perpetrated against white people, Johnny, or that any group is entitled to personal reparations for acts that took place in another era. Obviously racism exists across the board, among many groups, but it's wrong anyway you slice it.

I'm just referring to the fact that in the case of black people the racism was more systematic, i.e. perpetrated by government. Segregation, for example. So too for the Chinese brought over to build the CPR having to pay head taxes in order to emigrate here.

No Liberal Party literature for me though. I would rather a government work to ensure that the economy is healthy enough to support jobs for all people, regardless of background, rather than setting aside token jobs or educational spaces for certain ethnic groups. That is discrimination by definition. Well-meaning, perhaps, but largely ineffective and still discrimination.

I'm all for eliminating racism, but I don't feel it can be legislated out of existence. Unlike the Liberal Party, who feels they can eliminate anything they deem to be unsavoury through legislation. ;)
