Slick panel wagon?

Post by jecsd1 »

I'm pretty sure ford stopped panels in north america in 1960 but has anyone seen a custom one? just curious how involved it would be to make one. A swb uni might make a cool panel with the right parts

Hi! I am new here, been lurking for a while. But here is picture of 62 unibody lwb which was made in ambulance here in Finland. When I bought it in 88 it was converted back to its original look. Picture is from year 63. I had it almost 15 years but had to sold it. I still have 61 swb uni project truck and 61 F-600.

No, it wasn´t me, it was like that when I bought it in 1988 and I had to sold it somewhere in 2002 or 2003. That was a sad day.

Alot of guys seem to like the short Unis and therefore panels. I used to be the same based simply on "It's a short" because I like them in the cab/box trucks. After having the lwb Uni for awhile (really having a chance to look at it's lines) I have grown a preference for the long beds on the Uni's. It simply comes down to the rear wheel & wheel arch location in the overall side view of the truck. They are balanced. The rear wheel location has the same ratio in the swb cab/box trucks, although the lwb cab/box Slicks do have an unmatchable grace to them. A LWB panel would work well too, the roof line and the back would have to be just right though to keep the lines. Tim did a great job photoshopping mine, it does really need the roof extension to have the correct character though.
BTW, Welcome from Nebraska (or wherever I am).

I allways wanted to shorten one up on to a Bronco Chassis and make a big Slick Bronco...

But i would not use a uni i would have just used a cab and grafted the standard style side 64/66 bed on to it..
