How long have you been a Member of Slick 60's
I seen the post wondering where all the MSN members went and I got to wondering how long many of the current members have been here and what site were we on when you signed up. I have been here since we started, I think I was the 4th or 5th orig Member............Kid

Whoever said kid should add a poll to this thread was right..
I have been around since 11/11/2002. I found the MSN site, ironically thru THIS site, when Dane was operating it.
During the fall of 2002 I had just moved into a new house and was FINALLY in a state where i could take on a project truck, This, after the heartbreaking disappointment of losing my '40, 7 years earlier, because I simply could not afford it and kids at the same time.
I had surfed around a great deal for info on Merc trucks, and never really seriously considered a slick truck, I always remembered them as those odd-duck trucks that the box didn't match on. I was seriously looking for a short box bump side that either WAS a Merc, or I could make a Merc clone out of.
But Short box anything is in short supply here in farm country, (except stepsides
with their goofy wood box) and I stumbled across my long box '64, a Merc. so I bought it. After lurKing for several months before getting a truck, both here and at FTE, I joined the MSN site of the Slicksters.
Glad I did. the MSN part of the other site sucked rotten eggs, but the people were great. In fact as we left there (a few months later than I had wished for) I remember posting to Sinc like 19 times to come over here, and MSN ate every post. what a pain that stupid thing was. Saying this is an improvement over that is like saying the Queen Mary 2 is a nice boat compared to a log raft.
well this is much longer than I intended.

I had no idea there were two previous sites before the MSN one. You guys have been at this a long time!
Man, it's gonna take me at least another year before I don't feel like a newbie any more.
I joined up on this site. I spotted the MSN site about this time last year, but that thing was such an antiquated confuzing mess, I didn't even bother with it. I was really happy when I tripped over this site..."yay, the Slick goup has moved out of the 19th century!"
Meanwhile, you guys were probably saying "great, who let this putz in here?"

If it starts to rain, they'll tax the splash.
If you want to fish, they'll tax the bass.
If you plant a yard, they'll tax the grass.
If you don't play nice, they'll fine your *$#!

August 2006. Much like JC I was looking for a bumpside. Found my Slick on the net and remembered how much I liked them back in the 70s. Not many around here so I bought it as I like to be different. The guy I bought it from told me about FTE, and luckily I stumbled onto a link to here before it got deleted.
