GRILLE HELP!

ok so ive found the grille that i would like to use, however the pictures i have all were found under a search i did for "1962 ford f100 grilles" and the pictures i have for 1961 and 1962 trucks dont really clarify so if someone could help me out i would greatly appreciate it.

first grille, has the 2 large bars across it with the turn signals as well as the ford lettering in it.






The second grille, is the one that i would like to use for my truck, it is pretty much the same grille as far as i can tell, however they all seem to be painted, not polished or chrome, and instead of the ford lettering, they have like a PLUS sign that is really wide if you will.

ALSO IF ANYONE HAS ONE OF THESE OR KNOWS WHERE TO GET EITHER A REPRODUCTION GRILLE LIKE THIS, OR IF ANYONE KNOWS OF SOMEONE WHO HAS ONE FOR SALE I WOULD LOVE TO PICK IT UP, I CAN USE A REPRODUCTION ONE FOR THE TIME BEING FOR MACH UP PURPOSES IF I HAVE TO BUT IT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE AN ORIGINAL THAT WAS IN GREAT SHAPE... The top two are '61 grills and the bottom two are '62..

Not a great grill shot, but here is my '62 with a aluminum grill...

62 was first year of a aluminum grill,, 61 was either steel painted or chrome,, hard to find a decent aluminum ,, I saw one NOS n Grill never open till I went and looked at it,, 2 major scrathes from where all those years the staples did it in, and thatsa one reason need to check NOS ones where the staples will do more harm in scratching the product in side, or take all staples out before pulling product out...

thanks for the clarification, i wonder why all the grilles i see from 62, are painted then if they came aluminum, and my truck is a 62 and it came with the grille that had the ford lettering it it. hmmm

i have a line on a sweet chromed 61 grille...the only problem is that it comes with a truck that i have no use for. lol

Obviously, not ALL '62 grilles were anodized aluminum.

Rather, as Tom said, '62 was the FIRST YEAR for the aluminum grille.

The aluminum grille was a part of the Custom Cab package. So only if the buyer ordered the Custom Cab package did it come with the aluminum grille.
Most '62s were NOT so equipped and thus would have not had the aluminum grille; instead they would have been equipped with the 'plain vanilla' painted steel grille.
