Southern Ingenuity

One morning 3 South Georgia good old boys and 3 Yankees were in a ticket line at the Albany train station heading to Athens for a big football game. The 3 Northerners each bought a ticket and watched as the 3 Southerners bought just one ticket among them. "How are the 3 of you going to travel o...

Hood latch with in-cab cable that fits a 64?

Does anyone know if there is a direct bolt-on hood latch with a in-cab cable that will fit a 64 F100? I know there are kits available for adding a lock, such as this one on ebay, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250622614215&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%...

I would check carefully to make sure TX requires an inspection sticker on your slick. In Louisiana, no inspection sticker is required for any vehicle over 40 years old.

My dad bought his 64 in early 65, and drove it for the rest of his "driving days", and then gave it to me in 1986. I restored it mechanically and took him riding in it before he passed in 1989. Since then, I've completed the restoration. Mom says it looks better now than when it was new. H...

Re: 1964 F-100 Daddy's Truck

Oh, My! I am restoring my dad's truck and have been reading some of your post. I think I am in way over my head. My Dad died in 1979, my sister sold the truck a few yrs later. I found truck in 1992. I started having work done on truck 2 years ago. (Very costly) It is a slow process but I think it i...

Slick 60s caps

I posted this on another thread about the caps, but this one seems to be the one most active. So, here it is again. I don't wish to start any trouble, but next year please consider leaving off the apostrophe. An apostrophe is use to either make a contraction of two words or show ownership. i.e. Joe'...

Slick 60s caps

I don't wish to start any trouble, but next year please consider leaving off the apostrophe. An apostrophe is use to either make a contraction of two words or show ownership. i.e. Joe's going to town means Joe is going to town. Joe's car means that Joe has a car. Slick 60's does not fit either of th...

Mustang master cylinder - bleeding rear brakes

A few years ago I installed a Mustang dual master cylinder on my 64 F100, and installed a Willwood proportioning valve in the line to the rear brakes. I decided to bleed them today, and could not get any fluid out of the rear bleeders - no matter how hard I pressed the brake pedal. I've not read any...

Don't laugh at this, but when I was a youngster, working at a service station in high school, I was cautioned to not get grease on the flexible brake lines because it would cause the brakes to "grab". We tried it to see if it did, and it was true!! When a glob of grease was on the flexible...

Hot, Hot, Hot in N. Louisiana too

Hey folks, for the last couple of month, I've had to work real hard at staying warm - instead of hot!!! Temperature has ranged from 98-100 w/heat indexes from 103-105. Not good for man or beast. By the way, I finally made the transition to the new site, and posted a couple of photos in my gallery. I...
