Headlight switch / dome light
My dome light will not work the headlights and the park lights work and the dash lights will dim down. But I have no power on the black/with blue stripe wire from the switch. I am assuming the switch is bad, but trying to be frugal is there a way to repair the switch?

Do you have any of the seat bolts and the hood hinge bolts. They are 3/8 fine threaded bolts you have to use a 9/16 wrench or socket to remove.

Re: Drop beam handling
I know on my truck I had problems with handling and I had check the front and could not find any problems. So I checked the rear axle, found that the leaf spring bushings was worn out. And the mount bolt hole was egg shaped. Repaired all of that and the truck did not dance around anymore.

Re: What made you do it?
Well my great uncle had a 63 custom cab 292 and a three speed, I loved to ride in it as a kid. Well his oldest son inherited it or took it over and drove it. So my uncle bought another one, I can remember the day this old 64 pulled in his driveway. It had different colored fenders and was in bad sha...

Re: "Eventually" I will be done... Engine woes....
Sounds like your truck and mine truck are somewhat alike. After I put mine back together it smoked out the right side. Had to pull the head on the right side because it had a broken oil ring on #7. But your truck looks good.

Re: Info on the 'Pertronics' ignition system.............
Just keep the points in case you need them. I use it on my truck with the flame coil works great. But never leave the key on without the engine running it will make the coil get hot and the oil will run out and then the engine will not run.

Re: Will flare side bed from bump (67-72) fit?
Hugh the 67 bed will fit the 64,65,66 frames. I just scraped a bed like that 3 months ago. I took it off a F100. I think if its a long bed it will be too long for your truck. You could find a 64-66 bed and cut the front out and move it back, that is what I did. I should have gave you a holler I was ...

Re: wiper arm location problem
That's alot like mine did. My driver side went too far to left. Found that I had installed the wrong linkage arm. Driver's side was too long. Found a shorter one and installed works perfect.

Re: wiper arm location problem
Sounds like the motor is not going to the park position. But I would have to look at a wiring diagram to say if it the switch makes it park.

Re: Running wideband oxygen sensor
Well the truck performs very good, but I have not check mpg since Saturday. Saturday I drove from Oxford to Wilson 72 miles and got 11 mpg. But the air cleaner was restricting, changed air cleaner and AFR went from 12.9 to 13.3 and then adjusted the idle mixture. Did drive the truck to work 60 miles...

Re: Running wideband oxygen sensor
Well I may try it but for a little while. I wielded the bungs in just after where the header meets the exhaust pipes. See the AFR is okay 13.5 going down the road but at idle is drops to 11.6 and then is raises to 12.5 if it along stoplight or drive thru. But I read that engines are suppose to run r...

Re: Running wideband oxygen sensor
Well I guess I should give more info. I was using a 62 jet in the primary and the afr was 9.6, so I changed it to a 59 jet and got 12.7 afr. Then I tried a 58 jet and now getting 13.5 average. I could go and buy a 57 jets and put in it but not to sure. Reading on google I am on the low side for powe...

Running wideband oxygen sensor
Okay I am using oxygen sensor to try to get better mpg. Right now the air fuel ratio is between 12.8 and 13.6 with a 4100 autolite carb. From what I have read that the range I am running in now produces the most power. If I raise the numbers up to 13.1 to 14 will I get more mpg?
