The '57 Mercury station wagon line up was comprised of only hard top style wagons; they offered hard top wagons until 1960, after that they shared Ford body shells... Mercury had two different 2-door hardtop wagons in '57, '58 and '59 along with the 4-door hardtop wagons, but just had 4-door hardtop...

Greg, it was great having you "visit" PA, wish I was home when you took off-- wanted to say goodbye and thanks in person! This whole thing seemed like an awful lot to go through just to deliver 4 steel wheels, glad you weren't bringing anything bigger. With everything that happened, I gues...

I think the rarest will be the '63 BBW Uni CC.... In '63 you could get a flare side or a wrong bed for the full model year, and by then most buyers had seen the wear and tear on the Unis from '61 and '62...any one ever see the sales figures on Slicks from those years?

Reminds me of what happened to an '80 Pinto wagon I loaned a guy on Super Bowl Sunday in Syracuse NY back in 1988: cold day, he thought he was a good mechanic, actually he was something of a moron; he set the carb on fire trying to clean it out, his neighbor called the fire department...the FD arriv...

I always loved the sound of the engines in the movie during the chase scene. Was that the actual 390s they recorded...? I had heard they used the same sound effect from Bullitt for an overdub for the chase scene with the Chevy Nova in "The Seven Ups"

I had a 92 Sube 2 wd 5spd wagon, bought it used for 1800 with 86,000 ran it to over 160,000, changed timing belt 2 times, the first time was right when I bought it. Zippy little car, put lots of high way miles on her in 3 years. It ran pretty good, would've probably gone 200,000 with her but the bod...

Uni tailgate removal

I found a nice Uni tailgate in a junkyard here in Bucks County for $100. Just having a problem getting it off the donor truck. The bottom bolts on the hinge come out OK, but the top bolt seems to be inside a cage - hard to reach as it is up inside the enclosed body area under the tail light lens and...

some carb trouble

Started up the Uni today after it had been sitting for about a month or so; had the oil bath air cleaner off, Sinc was helping me out getting her started...it is a '61 with the 223 and a manual choke . Got it started, it was warming up, then gas started coming out the hole on top of the carb pretty ...
