The place to talk Slicks. All we ask is that discussion has something to do with slicks...

Well, the shortblock, anyways....It's a 390 HD ribbed truck block, bored .060" over, flat top pistons, 280H Comp Cam, double roller chain/gears, HV oil pump, '68 390 heads, Comp Cams valvetrain, (springs, retainers, keepers, pushrods) old Edelbrock S427 dual plane intake with a 600 Holley. Hedman headers. Gotta put the heads and top end together and install this Spring in my '65 F100 Custom Cab. Looking forward to replacing the tired 352 with this!!! Should be fun!!!!

Sounds nice!

What compression ratio do you figure you'll have - under 10:1 for regular gasoline?

Do you plan to run a Pertronix ignition?

I should have between 10-10.5 C.R. the way it sits. I doubt it'll run well on 93 octane...not worried though...I work at the airport all day in Grand Rapids, and we happen to sell 100 LL.....Hehehehe....and it smells like the dragstrip when it burns!!! Plus, I get it at a discount! :)
