Stop worrying and measure the scrub line, from the pics it looks OK to me. An easy way to check it is to let the air out of one of the frt tires and see if the axle or anything else hits the ground before the rim does.

I think I figured I'd have a 4" scrub line with the 3" axle drop. I Thought that'd be okay since the truck is basically a hot rod now, and wont be used as a "truck". Be good for rolling possums maybe. 8)

what size tire are those? Im thinking of going to a 15X5 as well but thinking of the 1" to a 1 1/2" white wall. Whats the total height all together on that tire wheel combo?

Sorry for the multiple quesitons but Im trying to make sure sicne Im doing the same type of combo for mine.

Thanks

Thanks for the info, AZ. I went to 17s to increase the scrub line plus I wanted V speed rate tires. My truck is about the same level as your's by just removing leaves right now,but I'm going with the dropped axle also. I too want to keep it old school. Thanks for the pictures again-they help motivate.

Truck looks awesome. BTW white walls can never be too big IMO.

Im working on the custom grille for my 64. Then on to suspension.

Roadsters is Dave Mann. And now has his dropping work done by Sid....

Yeah, thanks Garbz. I talked to Dave on the phone and found that out .He does some REALLY NICE polishing work. I'm gonna buy thru him-It's the same price. May get him to drill the axle also. I can't even set up my Haas machining center for the 100 bucks he charges to do it.

Post by azratrod »

yeah its dave mann at roadsters.com i knew someone else did his drops but didnt know it was sid. if thats true and you want the axle drilled go with dave. i thought about drilling mine but ill do it later on down the road.

the wheels are 5.5x15s i cant remember the tire size. sorry

ive let the air out of a tire to check the scrub line and its fine. a low scrub line and mono springs is what scared me. thats why i went with the stock springs

might check your wheelbase... I know when i set the axle on top of my springs it moved it forward a couple inches.. the flip kit i ordered, the center tie bolt is off set to one side to correct that problem..
