I can't stand reverse rake.
It reminds me I need to shell out $700 to Eaton spring to fix my Fairlane's saggy springs.

Aside from that the truck is perfection.
Just my 2cents.

PS I hate the rake. Makes me want to kick puppies.
hahahah I had to read that one to my girl. The puppie thing Im using. I ususally say makes me want to punch a kid with asthma. Anyway its also funny that your uni is my second favorite uni. I love those old slots on there. ANyway thanks for the honesty.

Iceman - Its 6.5" at lowest part so Im hoping that should be enough.

Garbz - its got a little go to it. ive got the 390/c6/holley 750/small cam/ so its got a little but needs a good rebuild. Ive got some blow by issues.

Fordman - Thats the part I was refering to the "reverse" rake.

Backyard - thanks thats what i was going for. i havent seen one like it and wanted to be seperate. I cant wait to see yours doen though. I love stock more than anything. Yes that is Seafoam green. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder on that color. It looks old and cool to me

I will add all the build pics when I get the CD but the Ray did great work. He also did my cab mounts/bed mounts. I dont have a garage and why not help someone out.

Hey you did it Your way...thats the point, C notch the rear drop the front, raise it all the way around, drop the front raise the rear, we all have inputs but the bottom line is what YOU like and what YOU drive. As for me I have one with a 60's gasser look and one that's in the grass but love them both...

looks pretty damm good but the color i dont like very much. but even though i dont like the color i do have some appreciation for it. just being origanal and it's a fitting color for the 60's. if it were a 70's truck or even mayby a 50's (i dont know i ain't old enuff to be an expert on 50's) i couldnt repaint with the same color. the color wouldnt keep me from buying one allready that color, but i would have a hard time forkin out the $$$ to repaint it the same. like you said you either like it or dont. i do like the looks you got goin on, truck looks nice. even if you painted it a nice shade of pink it has the mean and tuff look goin for it. ......is there such a thing as a nice shade of pink?

Kemah cruise

Post by winr »

This is my Slick at Kemah in november 2008.

I took the big tires off and put wheels and tires I got from StrongerRatFink66.

Hey Mike, I will come by this week and pay you....

I painted them satin black, these are why I am looking for hub caps.

I totally dig it. Caps are awesome too. Im not a butcher but i have to make a truck my own too. I probably wont get a lot of purist votes either when they see what i did to the grille of my 64. All im gonna tell you is that it involves some (Plural) Edsel horse collar grilles.

sweet dude. looks totally Low-key gasser...

And yeah, it also gives off the lowrider vibe.... If only you actually had some bags in it so you could fool around with it and find the best stance for the moment.

Love the color in a discordant off key kind of way. Kinda like a cute girl that's cute mainly because she is borderline funny looking, but in an attractive kind of way.... DOES ANYBODY know what I mean????

jhahaha yeah I know what ya mean. I take that as a compliment though so cool deal.

Im not doing the bags though. too expensive and really this is what I was going for so Im very satisified with it. Now if I can figure out why my carb is shooting fuel out the vent tube.

Oh yeah I definitely did this for myself and accept any opinions good or bad. Ive been on here since ive had this truck and learned a crap load of stuff sicne being on here. I just wanted to see how everyone on here perceived my truck since really we are the ones who truly appreciate these year trucks. One thing I will say is alot of people ask about my trucks o I give them the run down on the 61-66 trucks, not in as much detail as many of you know but after most people start looking at them differently. They start seeing the body lines of these trucks and not just the old rust on them. People start appreciating your truck when they learn about it. This is how I wanted my truck so Im happy with what I have. The next one will be more of a stock, no lowering, old cragar rims, loud and fast style slick. Im thinking a nice red/white combo. One that looks like the devil himself built it, but till then this is my baby and Im VERY proud of it.

Thanks to all and I will be updating with some new pics.

Oh yeah and the guy who did the c notch work is now a member on here.

His name on here is rayford for any techncial questions regarding the welding and such. Really good work. Busy as hell so I will update soon.
