Re: 63 uni short bed start
I would really like to put dual Quads on it but, if I were to spend alot of money on intake and carbs, it would get this... http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-CSUM1906/ ... Haha.. I am hoping to get the wheels off tomorrow, and try to get started on the brakes.. then if i have enough time before it rains... possibly fuel tank.. thanks for the links by the way guys

Thanks Mike! So I was thinking that the 289/302/351w took the same intakes? But you have to buy the adapter plate to get the triple deuce to work on the 351w..
Forgot I was on dads name again... Thanks Mike - From Zak

Re: 63 uni short bed start
The 351w is a tall deck version of the 260/289/302. That means that the factory added material to the block to accommodate a longer stroke. Think of the V in V8. If you lengthen the sides of the "V" the space in between widens, hence the need for a wider manifold on the 351w.
Below the manifold line everything is about the same for the 260/289/302/351 and the valve covers are the same also.
Regarding the tripower unit keep in mind that a lot of these parts are available used and aren't hi-tech to begin with.
For $2700 you could also get a 4 weber setup a-la Cobra.

Thanks Big Window Ford, I was talking to dad "Anthony" today about just going carburated, because the high pressure fuel line might be a little more expensive.. it is looking like cam the motor out and go with intake and carburetor.. I was told like a 480/280 cam is about the biggest I can go with all stock and no converter..
