EFI systems are actually more reliable then the old carbs. Federal law mandates trouble free emission meeting performance for 100K miles. All those sensors are under warrenty. The best part is the tune that comes from the factory will out perform any bolt on system with a carb given all other factor...

That carb is too big for the engine. A stock 460 will run fine and make adequate power with a 600 CFM. The stock cam/valve train runs out of everything about 4500 RPM. Look for a smaller carb and do the water thing or just take it on a 100 mile run with several hard acceleration runs after the first...

Pull the oil drain plug, see what comes out. Water will settle (oil floats) and run out first then the oil. If you have water could be from a couple of places. Next pull the plugs and look them over, spin the engine and look and listen. Head gasket will put water in the pan as well as in the cylinde...

What you're thinking will work. Let them soak for a day or so, put the heat on and hit with the ol impact----should do it. I have always put anti-seize on my nuts ( ) to keep them from freezing.....

Brake pedal

OK guys, tried the parts wanted section, didn't get too many looks so I'll try here. Looking for the complete pedal assembly out of a 61- ?, would like a manual set up. Want to modify and get ready for install prior to taking the truck down.

Anyone want to swap, sell, give, trade????

You are talking about the "voltage regulator", a rectangular shaped can about 3/4" long mounted to the back of the speedometer, has one wire in from the ingition switch, two wires out, one to the temp gauge and one to the fuel gauge.....in the older vehicles this "regulator"...

or look for a wheel that is flat or has less dish then the stock wheel. Many of the after market wheels will fit up with adapter kits, are larger and flat.

Nice part about cars is you can do what ever you want....if you live for others approval life will be really hard. Build what you want, how you want and don't worry about others opinions! Everybody has an opinion, everybody has a butt hole and they both stink! Now having said that......you should se...

Scott those are "choppers". They provide a lower average voltage to the gauges which are simple current meters. It is normal for the voltage to "turn on turn off" when operating properly (at least in the older models).

Check out Made-for-You. High temp nylon, hold the line off the chassis, come in various colors and are sized to fit the line. I have used them in many street rods and they are the coolest looking clips around.

Running the tail pipes out the back rather than dumping in front of the rear axle under the truck will go a long ways in reducing the noise in the cab. You are getting a double whammy with the noise being trapped under the truck between the body and the hard tar/pavement.

Look at the van columns. Many had tilt, key in column, some were floor shift, turn signal stalk is the tilt lever, much cleaner.
