when it rains it pours
John, sorry to hear about your truck troubles. Even more, icompletely agree with you about God taking care of you in troubled times. Afterall, He owns the cattle on a thousand hills and the wealth of every land! He has always been faithful to me! Good luck in the coming days! --Dave

RE: What rims will fit my 65 f250?
Thanks for the info, guys. I guess i was more concerned with the lug size, more than anything. The 86 lug nuts are bigger looki.g than the 65s. Guess I'll have to see by just trying. Thanks again!

what rims fit a 65 f250?
Hi guys & girls! I just picked up my new toy, a 65 F250 Camper Special, and it has old tires on the original split rims. One tire leaks. What I'm wondering is, will the stock steel rims from my 86 F250 fit? I saved this old girl from the scrapyard, buying it from the original owner, and after si...

I run a Holley 600 on my new 390/402. I agree with all the above opinions. Holleys aren't perfect, but are really tunable to your specific engine. Plus, parts/upgrades are plentiful. If it's a pretty stock engine, stick with a 600. Agreed. Bigger is not always better. Years ago, I ran a mild 289 in ...

re: saved from the crusher
Thanks, guys. I'll try the pic thing again. I guess i'm just a wee bit computer illiterate.... sometimes i miss my old IBM Selectric! Ha! Tom, a few weeks ago I was on vacation, and was up in the U.P. I cruised up to the Soo, then over to Munising. I hadn't been up there since I was a kid. Forgot ho...

Another Slick saved from the crusher!
I'm so happy tonite! Just finalized a deal for a 65 f250 Camper Special. Orig. owner, 352 4 spd., Dana rear. Interior is near perfect, with a totally intact headliner, even! Body has rough spots, but is a goldmine for parts for my 65 f100. Plan to get it home, get it running, (ran great 2 yrs. ago),...

Well, I did a dumb thing a couple of days ago. I took Fred, my 65 f100 out for a good drive, and when i got to my parents house, I saw my Dad standing outside the garage watching me. I decided then to do my first full power rolling start... i put him in 2nd (4 spd w/creeper), and punched it... he li...

Got my new 390/402 going last week. Nice to hear it run after 2 yrs of saving and getting parts and machining done. Thanks for all you guys help when I had questions. Now I get to go out and enjoy the sound of that beautiful lumpy idle! Hated to see the ol' 352 2v go, but.... ah the smell of 100 low...

Break in oil---30W or 10W40?? Opinions please
Hi guys! I just finished assembling my new .060" over 390, with new everything, and was wondering what oil viscosity you would recommend for initial break in? I bought straight 30W Rotella (for the zinc), but thought again, and wonder if I should have gotten 10w40 Rotella instead? I appreciate ...

64 to 65 F100 Radiator swap
Hey Guys, I just got a 65 F250 with a 64 front clip on it. Was wondering if a 65 radiator will fit that radiator support? I know i've read it here somewhere, but can't find it. Thanks!!

I should have between 10-10.5 C.R. the way it sits. I doubt it'll run well on 93 octane...not worried though...I work at the airport all day in Grand Rapids, and we happen to sell 100 LL.....Hehehehe....and it smells like the dragstrip when it burns!!! Plus, I get it at a discount!

Well, the shortblock, anyways....It's a 390 HD ribbed truck block, bored .060" over, flat top pistons, 280H Comp Cam, double roller chain/gears, HV oil pump, '68 390 heads, Comp Cams valvetrain, (springs, retainers, keepers, pushrods) old Edelbrock S427 dual plane intake with a 600 Holley. Hedm...

Hi guys, I haven't been on here in a long, long time, though I read the site almost daily. I have a question. I'm buying a 65 F250 cab/chassis off a friend of mine. It originally came with a 300-6, and I want to put a V8 in it. I have several different engines to choose from in my garage, i.e. 302, ...
